There were no non-conformances or advisories, which continues to demonstrate our strict quality control procedures, including robust data protection measures.

Can a vetting company prove that this is at the forefront of everything?

Yes – this is possible through third-party accreditations and certifications, which is why here at Security & Vetting Solutions, we spend time and money on achieving and maintaining recognised standards which give our clients complete peace of mind.

Even though we’ve been established for over 20 years and have worked with some large organisations, we are not a business that rests on its laurels.

In many cases, accreditations and certifications require regular audits, as well as our commitment to developing and implementing the required standards in terms of our continual improvement as a company.

So, with apologies for the inevitable acronyms (!), here are some examples:

UKAS accreditation standard ISO 27001 for our Data Security and Information Technology systems

ISO/IEC 27001:2022

We passed our audit and are accredited by UKAS – The United Kingdom Accreditation Service – for Information Security Standard ISO 27001.

This is an internationally recognised standard which sets out the specification for an information security management system (ISMS).

Being an extremely rigorous standard, it requires companies to prove that they “establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve an ISMS”.

It does this by looking right across the board at people, processes and technology to ensure that our ISMS is aligned with the best practices of information security.

Cyber Essentials

The cyber essentials government-backed framework is supported by the NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre). It sets out five basic security controls that can protect organisations against the vast majority of cyberattacks.

These are:

• Phishing attacks
• Malware
• Ransomware
• Password-guessing attacks
• Network attacks

BSI ISO 9001:2015

Again, accredited by UKAS, ISO 9001:2015 looks at our Quality Management System through regular audits.

Internationally recognised, ISO 9001 allows us to demonstrate the fact that we consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Membership of the SSAIB

Approved by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), the Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB) is the leading certification body for organisations providing security systems and services, fire detection and alarm systems, telecare systems and services, manned security services and monitoring services. We have previously been accredited by the BSOI under ISO 9001:2015 for the provision of BS7858 security screening; however, due to some internal changes at the BSI, we have moved our BS7858 accreditation to the SSAIB.

Since the SSAIB certification is itself subject to accreditation by UKAS, this is all about delivering services to the highest possible standard.
