What are Aviation checks?
Aviation security screening ensures that only trusted, verified individuals gain access to secure airport zones and is a critical element of aviation security. Strict regulatory oversight by the CAA and Department for Transport means that any non-compliant check can delay or prevent a pass being issued, with airports enforcing zero tolerance for vetting errors. Inadequate screening risks insider threats, operational disruption, or regulatory penalties, making thorough vetting essential to maintaining a safe and trusted airport environment.
Airside areas are among the most sensitive and high-risk operational environments, this usually requires an Airside Pass check. Airports face increasing regulatory expectations, and ensuring that every individual with airside access has been thoroughly screened is essential to maintaining safety, trust, and compliance.
Common roles for Aviation screening
- Airline staff
- Maintenance teams
- Baggage handlers
- Air traffic control personnel
- Anyone working in post-airport security retail or hospitality areas
Secure your workforce with Avation screening
Ensure your workforce meets the mandatory background-check process required for anyone needing unescorted access to restricted airport areas. Our team can guide you through the process, answer any questions and help you choose the correct level of screening for your roles.
Our Aviation screening service
This usually requires our Airside Pass Screening solution to meet strict compliance requirements set by BAA and UK airport ID centres, ensuring application screenings are complete, accurate, and ready for approval. Depending on different airport regulations, required checks may include identity verification, Right to Work, criminal record check, and a full 5-year background history, tailored to the level of access required.
Regulators such as the CAA and Department for Transport have tightened requirements, placing airports under pressure to prove that individuals entering restricted zones are fully verified and authorised. Failure to meet these standards can trigger audits, investigations, or revoked access permissions.
