You would expect a company such as ours to say that we take data security extremely seriously. But can a security and vetting company definitively PROVE that this is at the forefront of everything it does?
Yes – this is possible through third party accreditations and certifications which is why we spend time and money on achieving and maintaining recognised standards which give our clients complete peace of mind.
Even though we’ve been established for nearly 17 years and have worked with some large organisations, we are not a business that rests on its laurels.
In many cases accreditations and certifications require regular audits as well as our commitment to developing and implementing the required standards in terms of our continual improvement as a company.
So, with apologies for the inevitable acronyms (!) here are some examples:
ISO 27001
UKAS accreditation standard ISO 27001 for our Data Security and Information Technology systems.
Having passed our audit, we are now accredited by UKAS – The United Kingdom Accreditation Service – for Information Security Standard ISO 27001.
This is an internationally recognised standard which sets out the specification for an information security management system (ISMS).
Being an extremely rigorous standard, it requires companies to prove that they “establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve an ISMS”.
It does this by looking right across the board at people, processes and technology to ensure that our ISMS is aligned with the best practices of information security.
Cyber essentials accreditation
This government-backed framework is supported by the NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre). It sets out five basic security controls that can protect organisations against the vast majority of cyber-attacks.
These are:
- Phishing attacks
- Malware
- Ransomware
- Password-guessing attacks
- Network attacks
ISO 9001:2015
Again, accredited by UKAS, ISO 9001:2015 looks at our Quality Management System through regular audits.
Internationally recognised, ISO 9001 allows us to demonstrate the fact that we consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Membership of the SSAIB
Approved by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), The Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB) is the leading certification body for organisations providing security systems and services, fire detection and alarm systems, telecare systems and services, manned security services and monitoring services. We have previously been accredited by the BSOI under ISO 9001:2015 for the provision of BS7858 security screening, however due to some internal changes at the BSI, we are moving our BS7858 accreditation to the SSAIB.
Since the SSAIB certification is itself subject to accreditation by UKAS this is all about delivering services to the highest possible standard.
